Although it may not feel like it because daytime temperatures are still in the 80s, fall is here in Maryland! Pretty soon, we will actually be feeling a bit of a chill in the air. Pretty much everyone’s favorite thing to do on Maryland’s scenic Eastern Shore is to go to the beach, but there’s still so much to see and do during the “off-season”! Here are a couple of the things you can do around the Eastern Shore that don’t involve hanging out at the beach!
Bending Water Park in Marion Station
Bending Water park was originally the home of the Accohannock Tribe. At this beautiful park, you have the opportunity to take a tour with one of the knowledgeable guides, hike through the woods on miles and miles of trails, or paddle down the river in a canoe or kayak. You won’t find any fancy high-rise hotels here! Get closer with nature at Bending Water Park!
Chesapeake City Historic District
If you’re looking to tour through Eastern Shore history with a little less communing with nature, stroll down the streets of the Chesapeake City Historic district. This quaint town is on the National and Maryland State Historic Registries. You will find beautifully restored homes and shops, cute little B&Bs, restaurants, and a museum. There is even a bike trail for those who like to be outdoors!
Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin
After spending a day learning about the history of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, kick back with an evening at Ocean Downs Casino. You can find horse races, table games, slots, and some delicious food and beverages!
