One way to pump it up a notch is to go bold with your wall designs. This means taking advantage of your accent walls and making them more colorful than other walls in the entire house. In a smaller room, brighter colors count for a lot more, since you want there to be a feeling of wide-open space to chase away that pesky claustrophobic feeling. No one wants that, especially since it can discourage people from entering that space.
Be Subtle
On the other hand, you could choose to be subtle instead. That’s because a contrasting effect can pay off. If you have dark blue walls, play around with light blue on some of the accent walls in the same room!
